Christmas, whilst not without it's healthy dose of consumerism, is still possibly the only "pure" celebration left. It's mostly untainted apart from the stockings-and-Santa aspect.

I'm with funky on this one. It's far from 'pure'. Example? How about when Farmers start their Christmas advertising on the 1st of *November*, like they did last year.
